Fraction Bars Printable

This printable includes both coloured and ink-friendly fraction bars, with labelled and unlabelled versions. Fractions covered include one whole, halves, thirds, quarters, fifths, sixths, eighths, ninths, tenths and twelfths.

Use the fraction bars to explore:

• How many equal parts make one whole
• Why the denominator tells us the number of equal parts
• How fractions with different denominators compare
• Equivalent fractions, such as two quarters and one half
• Simple fraction addition and subtraction
• How the size of each part changes as the number of equal parts increases

Simply print, cut out the bars and begin exploring together. For longer use, print on thicker paper or laminate the pieces.
